  • 1. Originality: Unpublished work, not under review elsewhere

  • 2. Quality: Demonstrate legal expertise and novel insights

  • 3. Citations: Bluebook, ALWD, or jurisdiction-specific style

  • 4. AI Policy:

    •    Permitted: Research assistance, grammar/style editing, citation formatting, translation

    •    Prohibited: Major content or analysis generated by AI

Manuscript Format

  • Word or PDF, 12-pt Times New Roman, double-spaced

Submission Processes

Special Issue (Monthly)

  1. Initial Inquiry: Email abstract (200 words) and outline to submissions@themandamus.com

  2. Invitation: Decision within 1 week

  3. Full Submission: Complete manuscript due 2 weeks after invitation

  4. Screening: 1 week

  5. Peer Review: 2–3 weeks (anonymous)

  6. Editorial Review: 1–1.5 weeks

  7. Revisions: 1–2 weeks

  8. Final Decision: 3–4 days

  9. Publication: 3–6 months post-acceptance

Regular Publication

  • Direct Submission: Send full manuscript with all required elements to submissions@themandamus.com

  • Screening to Decision: 8–12 weeks total

Undergraduate authors may submit independently for both special issues and regular publications.
