Structured disagreement
The Debates
Curated exchanges in which competing legal positions are commissioned or accepted under one precisely framed question. Contributions are separately authored, source-reviewed and linked in publication order.

The archive will open with questions that can sustain genuinely distinct legal arguments, authoritative sources and practical significance. No debate is published merely to create the appearance of balance.
A proposed debate should
- identify a contestable legal proposition rather than a partisan slogan;
- permit clearly distinguishable positions grounded in law and evidence;
- matter to courts, institutions, rights, practice or reform; and
- define the relevant jurisdiction, authority and time frame.
